Frequently Asked Questions
?Why can't I just paste Markdown into Medium?
Medium's editor doesn't understand Markdown syntax. If you paste raw Markdown, you'll see literal asterisks, hashes, and pipe characters instead of formatted text. This tool converts it to rich text that Medium can interpret.
?What happens to tables?
Medium doesn't support HTML tables at all — they get stripped. This tool converts your tables into a readable bold-label list format (Header: Value · Header: Value) that Medium preserves.
?Does code syntax highlighting work?
Medium doesn't support syntax highlighting in code blocks. Your code will appear in a monospace grey block, but without color-coded syntax. For better code display, consider embedding a GitHub Gist link.
?What about images in my Markdown?
Image references are preserved in the HTML. However, when pasting into Medium, you may need to re-add images manually using Medium's image upload feature for best results.
?Are nested lists supported?
Medium only supports single-level lists. Nested lists are automatically flattened with a dash prefix to maintain the hierarchy visually.
?What heading levels does Medium support?
Medium supports H1 (title), H2 (section heading), and H3 (subsection). Any H4-H6 headings in your Markdown are automatically converted to H3.
?Is my data private?
Yes. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your Markdown content is never sent to any server. No data is stored or tracked.
?Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free with no limits, no sign-up, and no watermarks.
